Why Your Support is Needed:

The Center for Autism
Spectrum Disorders at:

Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders at Nationwide Children Hospital

Today, 1 in 64 children are diagnosed with autism... With proper treatment and intensive therapy, children with autism are able to make maximum gains and reach their full potential... Nationwide Children’s Hospital’s Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders is making this happen.

Autism is a complex neurobiological disorder that inhibits a person’s ability to communicate and develop social relationships, and is often accompanied by behavioral challenges.

Autism Spectrum Disorders are diagnosed in 1 in 64 children in the U.S., affecting 4 times as many boys as girls. The Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders, a comprehensive autism program at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, directed by Dr. Jacquie Wynn, uses this type of intensive treatment that research has shown to give children with autism the best chance to reach their full potential. The Center also provides a range of other services to support the needs of children across the spectrum and their families. The cost of autism treatments and family supports are often not covered by insurance, and government funds are limited.
